Care is customized around the individual rather than forcing every family into the same plan.
How do we know how much care our loved one needs?
We begin by learning about your loved one, their routines, abilities, challenges, and what the family is currently managing.
Some people may need only a few hours of companionship or assistance each week.
Others may need daily care or around-the-clock support.
We help families determine a level of care that makes sense now and adjust it as needs change.
What if my loved one refuses help?
This is very common.
Many older adults hear the word “caregiver” and immediately worry that someone is coming into their home to take away their independence.
We approach care differently.
Our caregivers are there to support the person, not take over their life. Often, beginning with companionship, meals, errands, or light help around the home allows trust to develop naturally.
Do you provide dementia care?
Yes.
For individuals who should not be left alone or who need assistance throughout the day and night, we can discuss options for extended or 24-hour care.
The appropriate arrangement depends on your loved one’s needs and the level of assistance required.
Can you help after a hospital or rehabilitation stay?
Yes.
Returning home after hospitalization, surgery, illness, or rehabilitation can be a vulnerable time.
We can assist with meals, personal care, mobility, transportation to follow-up appointments, household tasks, companionship, and other everyday needs while your loved one regains strength.
Can the care plan change?
Absolutely
Care needs rarely stay exactly the same.
A person may begin with a few hours of help each week and later need more support. Someone recovering from surgery may initially need significant assistance and gradually require less.
Care should change as the person changes.
Do family members stay involved?
Yes.
Family involvement is important.
With your loved one’s permission and according to the care arrangement, we can communicate with designated family members about concerns, changes, and important observations.
Our goal is to work with the family, not replace them.
Is Keeping Them Home medical home health care?
NO
Keeping Them Home provides non-medical home care.
Our caregivers assist with everyday activities, companionship, personal care, safety, routines, and household needs.
Medical services such as skilled nursing, wound care, injections, or other clinical treatment must be provided by appropriately licensed medical professionals.
